Fertility and Endometriosis

Fertility and endometriosis disease are searched on the medical websites and asked to the experts by women who want to have a child. Although some of people don’t concern about the situation, this relationship is so critical for having a living baby. To have knowledge about the relationship between fertility and endometriosis, it should be known what the endometriosis.

Endometriosis is a benign, but often painful, chronic disease in young women. Although the disease causes severe physical and mental problems and is the most common benign disease in women after fibroids, it is generally underestimated. In endometriosis, a tissue similar to the uterine mucosa is formed in the outer part of the uterus and spreads to various organs. This formation can be rarely placed on lungs. As a result, infectious reactions, cysts, wounds and adhesions occur in the abdomen. This condition is manifested as painful symptoms due to menstrual bleeding.

Endometriosis formations may cause to chocolate cysts which are so critical problem for fertility. In a year, millions of women cannot have a baby due to chocolate cysts. So, fertility and endometriosis are so related with each other.

Endometriosis may be one of the reasons in women who cannot become pregnant. In some of these women, scar tissue caused by endometriosis causes obstruction in the woman’s tubes. However, the causes of endometriosis affecting fertility in most women are not yet clear.

Fertility and endometriosis have near relations with each other because endometriosis occurs in the ovaries and impairs ovulation function. In addition to this, endometriosis produces natural toxins that kill sperm. This structure, which prevents the embryo from adhering to the uterus, also has harmful effects on embryo development. Thus, the fertility and endometriosis have a relationship and women should be concern about that disease.
